Continuity Engine ("we," "us") provides an operational workflow documentation tool for HVAC and trade businesses. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the app at usecontinuityengine.com, and how it's handled.
WHAT WE COLLECT
During this initial launch phase, Continuity Engine doesn't require an account, sign-up, or email address to use. The information we collect is limited to:
The operational notes you type or dictate into the app (shop name, owner name, license details, staffing, banking relationships, vendor relationships, and similar business information you choose to enter)
A randomly generated session identifier, used to save your draft and let you return to it later
If you make a purchase, your payment is processed entirely by Gumroad. We do not receive or store your card number; Gumroad's own privacy policy governs that transaction
If you email us for support, whatever you send us in that email
WHAT WE DO NOT WANT YOU TO ENTER
Please do not enter passwords, PINs, full financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive credentials into your notes. The app is not designed to store this kind of information securely.
HOW WE USE IT
Your notes are used to generate your operations and succession manual
Risk flags (the eight core risk types the app looks for) are generated by fixed, rule-based logic running on our own servers — not by AI, and not sent to any AI provider for that purpose
Your notes are sent through our AI infrastructure provider's gateway to third-party AI models (OpenAI and Google) to polish the wording of your manual and help extract names and roles you've mentioned
HOW YOUR DRAFT IS STORED AND ACCESSED
Your draft is saved on our servers, tied to a private link (your session ID) rather than a username and password. Anyone who has that link can view and edit that draft — treat it like a password, and don't share it publicly. If you lose the link, we can't recover your draft without it.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy as the product changes — including if a future version introduces accounts or requires an email address. The date at the top will reflect the most recent update, and material changes will be flagged clearly on the site.

During this initial launch phase, Continuity Engine does not require you to create an account, sign up, or provide an email address. Access is tied to a private session link rather than a login. We may introduce accounts in a future version; if we do, we'll update these terms first.
3. WHAT THE SERVICE IS — AND ISN'T
Continuity Engine is an operational workflow documentation tool. It helps you turn plain-language notes about how your business runs into a structured manual, and it flags common succession and continuity risks using fixed, rule-based logic.Continuity Engine does not constitute legal, regulatory, or tax advice. 4. WHO CAN USE THIS
You must be 18 or older and have the authority to enter business information on behalf of the shop or entity you're describing. This service is intended for business owners and is not directed at children.
5. YOUR CONTENT
You own the notes, business details, and other content you enter into Continuity Engine. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process that content solely to generate your manual, detect risk flags, and provide the service described in our Privacy Policy. We don't claim ownership of your business information, and we don't use it for anything beyond operating the service for you.The information in your manual is only as accurate and complete as the notes you provide. We do not verify the accuracy of anything you enter. The risk-flagging feature is designed to catch commonly occurring, clearly stated risks; it is not exhaustive, and a "Flag a Risk" option exists for anything you believe the automated flags missed.You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of your inputs. You must not enter restricted credentials into the application—including passwords, PINs, full financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, or government identifiers. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on data handling and privacy boundaries.
6. PAYMENT AND THE $299 EXPORT
Building your manual and seeing risk flags is free. A one-time fee of $299 unlocks the sealed, downloadable version of your manual (PDF and TXT). Payment is processed by Gumroad; their terms govern the transaction itself.
7. ACCEPTABLE USE
Don't use Continuity Engine to enter information you don't have the right to share, to attempt to access another user's draft without their session link, to interfere with the service's operation, or to use the service for any unlawful purpose.
8. NO WARRANTY
Continuity Engine is provided "as is." We don't warrant that the risk-flag detection is complete, that the generated manual is error-free, or that the service will be uninterrupted or available at all times.
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Continuity Engine and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including decisions made based on the manual or its risk flags.
10. CHANGES TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS
We may update the service or these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
11. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of your state, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
